Girls & Panzer: Saishuushou Part 2
Continuing exactly from where part 1 left off we have another fantastic part to the existing show. Part 2 continues the fight against the BC Freedom High School and shows us how other schools are doing and finishes with the first half of the fight against the Chi-Ha-Tan Academy team.
The part where it shows the other teams performing is very nice and I am glad to see Anzio Girls High School doing well and also a funny shot of their usual food parties aftermath. Anchovy my favourite is always good to see.
The art used in the show is excellent and perfectly suited to the format of the show. The girls are all very cute in this Cute Girls do Tankery show.
The Soundtrack is excellent as expected. The battle sounds are great and the voices are perfectly suited.
Character development is already very set for the main cast but they do continue to reveal more. The other two schools shown as the main opponents this time have a really nice development. Marie is a very cute character and the girls are all unique. I love the historical figure relations many have. The Shark team are a great addition as seen from part 1.
Overall part 2 is very enjoyable and this is an absolute must-watch along with the entirety of the content available.
It's been nearly 2 years since the first film, and I must say it's worth the wait. Let's just hope won't take that long for the third fim to come out.
The second film is more action heavy than the first, having 2 matches in one film with short glimpses of the other school teams matches against other school team. Some of them needs to be fully introduced. Like the Koala team with their khaki Outback uniform makes me wonder if they really listen to that silent Koala as their team captain. With Spain big-breasted team versus team Saunder's, it's Kay's killer thigh's the winner. They haven't shown any character from team Viking, which is a shame. I only saw one character from the Polish team.
Both of main matches deals with aspect of being lost in a maze and the team that can use their surroundigs to their advantage is the winner. Even with fast rushing action and dizzying surroundings one doesn't feel confused of the narrative and can easily catch the storyline, a sign of good directing and filmaking.
I like how in both BC freedom and the Chihatan match we are more focused on the opponents characters, not Oorai. We follow through BC and Chihatan as they go about their plan. We see the battle in their eyes more so than from the Oorai girls. It's quite refreshing as we get to know more of these characters than the main team, who we are now quite familiar now.
We see more that Marie is the glue that keep peace with the two opposing factions of BC freedom. Her acrobatic skills are nothing to sneeze at.
Sadly, Shark team did'nt do to well in this episode. It shows their lack experience, much like Anteater team was in final episodes of the TV. Hopefully they would do well in the next movie. The MVP of the match today is Sodoko's Mallards, they're the first one to notice the ambush in the first movie and now they sow havok in the second film. They we're able to save team Hippo too in the second match.
Chihatan learns quite quickly from Oorai, thanks to Fukuda keeping airheaded Nishi and hot-headed other girls in check. It's always funny how they always try to do outdated WW1 tactics but still willing to try out the new "cowardly" modern tactics of tankery, but giving it a more "honorable" spin.
Again, a very enjoyable and exciting movie. Worth the long wait, if Actas can keep up the quality, all is right with world. Though being expeditious would be much appreciated.
