Since the original review got deleted due to some mod bullshit here is the sequel:
This truly is dreadful show. My expectations never were high since Seven Deadly Sins is truly a super mediocre show. But oh man it was far worse than I expected. White fucking blood? Ah, yes finally the enemies cum after being killed. Of course the censoring is also horrible.
The animation sometimes feels like watching a PowerPoint slideshow. It feels like their budget is super low. They are not even trying to animate it properly. Why in the hell would they hire such incompetent people for this. The director and series compositioner is also bad at their job. Finally a show that rivals Fairy Tail.
Starting off with the story: It continues straight from the last season with mostly filler hooray I know. Then in the second episode the story actually starts, King and Diane and strolling around the fairy forest and meets drole and gloxinia who train them by sending them back to the past that takes place about few hundred years in the past duh. They must get stronger and escape said simulation by doing something they originally did not do. Well, finally in the 7th episode the Sins are back together and ready to take on they demon king.
Characters are the same as last season but we got to know more about elizabeths past, meliodas, gloxinia, drole, gowther and even oslow. None of them have changed since season 2.
The soundtrack is still pretty lit so I gotta give them that.
Again, the animation is beyond horrible.
I have not enjoyed this show and probably never will. You can also The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods anime watch online and Free download.
Ok, so I actually really liked this series, despite my rating being low.
First of all, my big thing about this series is that I really dont go into it because of the plot. Its the pure awesomeness of the characters that I just want more and more of. Meliodas is everything a character aspires to be, and Ban is his darker counterpart. King is incredibly powerful, yet struggles with internal issues of relationships and Diane, Merlin and Escanor are pretty flat tho. We dont really come to see em. Escanor is awesome, but's still relatively flat.
People watching this only care about Meliodas, Ban, King and maybe Diane because their pure prowess and internal struggles are so captivating. Problem is, the story so far has focused WAYYY too much on King and Diane. King is great in the presence of the other sins, but in this really long subplot, he is with only Diane, while meeting other versions of the sins. basically, he talks with technically the same characters, but because of the nature of the plot, the dynamic character relationships are just GONE. Diane is also a really bad character to carry a plot like this. She was good when talking about her backstory in relation to King, but since this is something completely different, that whole comparability is gone.
So far this season is just trying to develop Diane and King. King has been barely developed, because his previous development is just massive compared to what this arc has offered us so far. And so far, Diane has just had nothing develop her. The other thing its trying to do is develop some villains and by doing so, the overall lore of the world. Lorebuilding is what i would call magnificent. The lore is literally carrying the series at this point, with star characters like Meliodas and Ban offscreen, and the other development being so shallow. And because the lore is so good, the development for the villains is really solid. Its not as deep as I would have hoped, despite how doing that would be really easy. The plot elements to make it deep is there, for some reason, the story just doesnt pull through and make it deep. Still, compared to the zero development of these specific villains previously, what weve gotten here can be considered groundbreaking.
Talking about the whole series, including other seasons, I know that the scale of the plot is epic, with the wars and betrayals beating me up so bad! Is was AWESOME. Now, however. The subplots offer some of this, but not nearly as much as before. With more lore being made and reveals being shown, its totally good, just nowhere near the first series with its large scale plot that the main characters are directly affecting.
The story is dope, but is only AWESOME when combined with characters. The Art was honestly kinda trash. Lots of scenes where the characters are just looking in a direction, even if they're literally the focal point of a close up shot, looks sooooo bad. Like they dont have a concept of scale, or they have nothing to base the look on. It's like they're changing every episode. And the sound was fine. The characters were ok, half of them being great, the other half useless, with the current main characters just getting too little development, but not that bad.
Personally I love an epic journey of powerful beings reclaiming the world from evil, and so I enjoyed this as one of my fav animes of all time. But overall, it does lack in character and plot at some point. The whole series is incredible, this current season's the only one that makes me feel a bit iffy.
